Just when you think that the Palin's cannot possibly make any more of a fool of themselves then they hoist themselves up on a new petard. And this one is a dozzie!

It's bad enough that the first episode of Bristol's critics slammed unreality show will air tonight, but the news that Todd is also being cast as a celebrity surely has to be a joke on the family by Hollywood. Please someone put me out of my misery and tell me that the producers of Stars Earn Stripes cast Todd purely for the giggles and not because they think that he has true celebrity status. After all, didn't he cheat during some of those snow machine races? Hardly the actions of a good sports role model, is he?

Regarding Todd's cheating during the Iron Dog 2007 competition, see also this discussion which has been preserved by the "Wayback Machine" (h/t KAO).

In this discussion, we find this witness report about Todd's cheating during the Iron Dog 2007:

What I witnessed was Scott Davis and Todd Palin adjusting their track tension "off the clock" right before pulling up to the restart. When they were confronted, they definitely looked like the proverbial lad with his red hand in the cookie jar.

The alleged former infractions I was informed about include: taking parts on the course rather than at a checkpoint(this would allow them to repair at the failure location rather than tow or backtrack to a checkpoint), taking fuel from an airplane or bought from a villager(in former races, the rules stated fuel would only come from that provided by the race direction at the checkpoints), replacing sled parts that were not allowed to be replaced(self-explanatory), replacing parts assemblies rather than individual components (i.e., replacing a complete rear skid assembly rather than disassembling the existing skid to replace a failed part).

Those are the instances I had heard of.

It was said to me by Mark Carr (former veteran racer) that he was DQ'ed for his teammate using the "F"-word in an interview while hours in the lead of the race at Nome. They allowed him to do all his race prep for the run to Fairbanks, then DQ'ed him as he pulled the restart line in Nome. He also said he was DQ'ed during a different race for buying fuel in a village after running out before the next checkpoint. There was no '15 minute' penalty, etc......it was a full disqualification.

......Yeah, I'll just let it go!??

Apparently I'm not rooting for the right guys!

It also did not escape my attention that although all of the other "stars" are introduced because of their sporting, acting or singing credentials Todd is simply introduced as "Sarah Palin's husband." He's already a joke.........

The celebrity competitors include boxing champion Laila Ali, actor Dean Cain (Out of Time), former NFL player Terry Crews (The Expendables), singer Nick Lachey (The Sing-Off), Sarah Palin’s husband Todd Palin, Olympic gold medalist Picabo Street, The Biggest Loser trainer Dolvett Quince and WWE star Eve Torres.

If the Palin family think that these appearances on reality shows will make them more relevant or endear them to the public then they are quite mistaken. I'm not entirely sure what the rules of this new game show are (and neither do I care), however, the thought of Todd being teamed up with a law enforcement agent is hugely entertaining. I guess they can always discuss the latest news out of Alaska together if they do run out of chit chat.

Please leave your suggestions as to which reality TV show a Palin will appear in next in the comments.

Be sure to watch out for Leadfoot_LA's snarkalicious review of the first episode of Life's a Tripp. We report so you don't have to watch.

UPDATE (by Patrick):

The world had almost forgotten about the "Kardashians of politics", but now the "Palashians" are back with full force. They are just too entertaining to ignore. For example, Mike Huckabee yesterday reminded Bristol Palin that she is now "fair game", because Bristol herself chose the spotlight. But you just knew that a typical "Palin response" was inevitable, as the Palin family motto really should be called: "Always attack your enemy, never defend yourself." The second motto then could be: "Nobody has the right to criticize the Queen of Alaska or her family."

Mike Huckabee really should have know his. What are his accomplishments anyway? He is an old lonely man looking for attention, according to Bristol Palin's new blog post, reading "between the lines", so to speak. The post was of course not really written by Bristol Palin, which is easy to spot, as it does not for example contain the words "fat stoner", "fattest shit stash", "pregnant" or "slut"...

....or even the words "typical shit talker", "chunk", "facial hair", "balls", "dumbed ass", "puked", "babby daddy" (see the story at "TMZ").

Bristol/Nancy French/Sarah now respond to Mike Huckabee on "their" blog:

I understand Gov. Huckabee has a huge challenge creating a radio show he wants as the alternative to Rush Limbaugh. I understand he wants to fill his show with a little controversy – and what better way than to create headlines telling the world he now considers me “fair game.”

However, does he really believe I don’t understand what it’s like to be “fair game?” Anyone who’s seen this blog – or the newspapers or the television – knows I’ve been through quite a bit of media speculation, ridicule, scorn. I’ve been writing about my own political ideas and have been “fair game” in my comments sections. I’ve also defended myself from vile comments from leftists like Bill Maher. Is Mike Huckabee joining into that scorn supposed to intimidate me?

You’ve got to actually listen to it, to get the full effect of his scolding tone.

Yes, her infamous mother Sarah certainly should be the only one allowed to speak with a "scolding tone" in order to intimidate others.

So, what has poor Bristol done anyway - apart from several magazine gossip front-page stories for about $ 100,000 each (exploiting her child), "pro-abstinence" commercials for a several hundred-thousand dollar more (exploiting her child), publishing an autobiography (exploiting her child), appearing on DWTS, appearing on several non-political or political TV-shows, and now appearing in her own reality show (massively exploiting her child). What has she done? Absolutely nothing, she is a just a very private, vulnerable person, can't you see, Mike! Leave her alone, Mike, you creepy old man looking to exploit poor Bristol for ratings!
